Origin:
Linseed – Jantar was bred in the Breeding station Slapy u Tábora in the Czech Republic. It has been registered into National Plant List in the Czech Republic. Linseed – Jantar is a modern type linseed variety with excellent quality of seed. It has a golden-yellow colour of seed.

Description:
Linseed – Jantar is a light blue flowered variety with a medium long vegetation period, with a high content of linoleic acid (72%) and a low content of linolenic acid (2%), with very good yield of seed (2,1 t/ha). Excellent resistance to lodging and very good health status satisfy the highest demands of growers in flax region bellow 500 meters above sea level. Yield of seed is good in dry areas as well.

Requirements:
Linseed – Jantar has no special requirements; it can be grown according to the usual technology of linseed growing. Linseed – Jantar should be sown into prepared fine soil in quantity 60-80 kg per hectare. The best term for sowing is at the beginning of April. A technology of growing is the same as for other varieties of linseed. There has not been found any negative sensibility to the registered chemicals. It is recommended to harvest at the beginning of full maturity for obtaining high quality seed and fibre.
